Localised fat deposits are subcutaneous adipose tissue accumulations in specific anatomical areas that alter body silhouette. This well established very popular non-surgical treatment is appropriate for some patients with lower eyelid dark circles or hollows (also referred to as “tear troughs” or “tear trough defects”). What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel is a treatment in which an acid solution is used to remove the damaged outer layers of the skin. In performing chemical peels, we apply alpha hydroxy acids (AHA), trichloroacetic acid (TCA), or phenol to the skin.

Typically administered as a facial peel, a chemical peel enhances and smoothes the texture of the skin.
